"You have frizzy hair? Apply coconut oil. You don't have shaving cream? Use coconut oil. You have dry skin? Apply coconut oil. You have bad credit? Increase it with coconut oil. Your boyfriend is acting up? Use coconut oil."

From moisturizing dry skin to aiding in weight loss, coconut oil is a miracle product that can pretty much cure anything! Coconut oil is high in natural saturated fats that not only increases healthy cholesterol (HDL), but converts bad cholesterol (LDL) into the good.

Coconut oil is an excellent massage oil that can act as a face cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. It improves skin issues such as eczema, dandruff, dermatitis, psoriasis and burns.  Apply the oil directly to your skin to prevent wrinkles and dry skin. Improve your antioxidant levels by taking 1 tablespoon of coconut oil with anti-oxidant rich berries in the morning.

If you have dry or damaged hair, coconut oil has the perfect fatty acids to nourish and reduce protein loss in your hair. Using coconut oil as a hair mask on a regular basis will add a shiny quality to your hair, which is always a plus. Apply coconut oil directly to your hair as a natural conditioner and allow it to sit for 30 minutes. Allowing it to sit over night is even better!

Coconut oil aids in weight loss due to the short and medium-chain fatty acids that help in taking off excessive weight. Swallow a tablespoon of coconut oil every day or swap out your cooking oil to reap the benefits: boost immunity, improve digestion, burn fat and even build muscle.

A few other benefits of coconut oil include:

  • Treats pancreatic and Alzheimer’s disease

  • Prevents and effectively cures candida

  • Improves bone health

  • Prevents diseases affecting liver and kidney

  • Effective in healing damaged tissues and infections

  • Rich in Lauric acid that helps maintain blood sugar and cholesterol

  • Helps in reducing stress

The benefits are endless.

Omega-3 fatty acid deficiency is one of the top 10 causes of death in America, according to a recent study at Harvard University.

Fish oil contains omega-3 essential fatty acids, which is a blend of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), which are important for overall health.

The benefits of fish oil are abundant:

  • Helps lower blood pressure

  • Helps lower "bad" Cholesterol levels and increases "good" cholesterol levels

  • Improves cognitive functions

  • Treats symptoms of ADHD

  • Treats symptoms of depression

  • Aids the body in weight loss

  • Improves natural inflammatory response

  • Reverse symptoms of asthma

  • Aids in healthy pregnancy

  • Increases energy levels

When our body receives a sufficient amount of omega-3 fish oil, we gain more muscle! It is caused from nutrient partitioning. Meaning, calories that are originally stored as fat can turn into muscle.

Formula for muscle growth:

rate of synthesis - rate of degradation =

muscle growth

The DHA and EPA in omega-3 fatty acid increases the synthesis and degradation!

Unlike any other sweetener, honey is a blend of sugar, trace enzymes, minerals, vitamins, and amino acids. Honey is a powerhouse of several health benefits.

  • Contains antioxidants

  • Fights free radicals in the body

  • A quick source of energy for long workouts or sport events

  • Soothes coughs

  • Boosts memory

  • Provides nutrients

What you might not know is that an avocado is a fruit and contains more potassium than a banana!

Avocado's a monounsaturated fat that increases good cholesterol levels. They are a rich source of vitamin K, vitamin E, vitamin C, potassium, fiber and folate.

There are several ways to incorporate and modify  avocados into your daily meals. Instead of spreading butter on your toast, spread half an avocado. Replace the mayo with mashed avocado. Incorporate an avocado into your morning smoothie. Brighten up your salad with slices of avocado.

Avocados are the good kind of fat!

  • ½ avocado

  • 1 T organic honey

  • 1 T plain yogurt (the higher in fat, the more moisturizing)

Step 1: Mash avocado in a small bowl

Step 2: Add honey and yogurt. Combine until mostly smooth—a few lumps are just fine.

Step 3: Spread a thick layer onto clean skin. Let sit for 10-15 minutes or longer. Remove with a warm wash cloth. Finish with a splash of cool water and your favorite moisturizer.
